Here are more of the new stamps. To be honest, none of these were my idea. Lynn sent me a photo of a sympathy card she liked and I reworked it a little and came up with these. I haven't really been paying attention, but word on the street is that good sympathy stamps are hard to find. These were very popular in Florida but seeing how Florida is such a retirement hot spot... well, do the math. Let's just say there are a lot of sympathy cards going around The Sunshine State!
The Leafy Stem stamp was stamped in Memento Potter's Clay and then the single petal was inked with Memento Rhubarb Stalk and again with Cantaloupe. The Petal is a great filler for the Leafy Stem (which is a really lame name but my brain was strained). You can find them HERE.
Here are the stamps so you can see how they work together.
And another version, in Memento Pear Tart and Sky Blue. Too happy for a sympathy card? Too bad.
And one more, this time using Colorbox Frost White as well as brown. And if you're wondering which brown I used well hold on to your wigs and keys...
It's the brown from the fall Distress set! You know, the one's that have no reinkers and even though they're sold in a 3 pack, they actually cost MORE per pad (don't worry - I didn't pay full price for my set. my momma didn't raise no dummy). Anyway, I don't know what the color is called - maybe Rotting Pumpkin On Your Porch?
Oh, relax! I'm kidding. It's a perfeclty lovely shade of brown. It's a brownish brown not unlike all the other browns out there. But clearly you want it, you've got to have it, you can't live without it! Tim says so!
So there they are, just in time for winter. Is it just me or does it seem like a lot of people drop dead in winter? Maybe it's the cold weather. Maybe it's the pressure of the holidays. Maybe people just don't get what they want for Christmas (if you want to make someone happy, you can't go wrong with hookers and booze). Whatever the reason, you should probably be prepared and make a few cards to have on hand. And if you find that a lot of your friends are dying, you should get some younger, healthier friends. I'm talking to you, Curt. He's always making a sympathy card for someone!
