The other day I was reading an article dramatically titled The War On Christmas.
What?
Seriously?
Where do these fools live? I can't even look out my window without being visually assaulted by my neighbors' tacky Christmas decorations much less drive down any street or go to any store or public place! Christmas music, Christmas decorations, Christmas sweaters... Christmas Christmas Christmas! But then I took another sip of tequila and realized that the article was just another piece of propaganda meant to stir up the stupid people. So if you want to have a Christmas tree, good for you. If you'd rather have a holiday tree, fine. If you want to have a cocktail and think about something else, even better!
So today I'm focusing on New Year's cards. Since there's no money in making a specific year stamp, I printed "twenty-twelve' and "2012" on my computer and stamped the balloon on both. I cut out the sections I wanted and colored with Copic Markers. Copics don't make the ink jet ink run. At least not the ink from my cheap-o ink jet printer. The Happy New Year stamp is one of the new ones for this year.
Youc could also use this idea to personalzie the balloon with someone's name. Of course, you'll have to learn to use your computer!
I printed another "Twenty-Twelve" in a larger font for this one. The Solid Peace is stamped in Bahama Blue on Memory Box paper. The outline version of this stamp is more popular but this solid one has it's place. I like how you can see the dots through the ink. Simple and clean. The "Happy New Year" stamp would be great on the inside.
Have a peaceful 2012
free of Kardashians, Trumps
and "real" Housewives of anywhere!
Unfortunately, it's an election year so I doubt that anyone will find much peace in 2012!
And if anyone wants to start a real war on Christmas, let me know. But if basic training involves any sort of exercise or cutting my hair or wearing a uniform, forget it. My attack will have to be in the form of looking askance at your hideous Christmas sweaters and complaining about your inflatable front yard Santas.

Ha ha, I happen to love Christmas decorations, as long as I don't have to go out in the cold to put them up, or take them down! Totally agree though, about Trump, Kardashian's, reality anything, and election year! Great ideas today for 2012! Would work for birthday, wedding, graduation, etc! Thanks for sharing, and have a good day.

I love Christmas...without Christmas we wouldn't have words like "Bah" and "Humbug". What IS a humbug, anyway? We wouldn't have "snow glistening in the lane". Have you ever seen snow glistening? I will quit now and go back to sipping my vodka gimlet.

Could not agree with you more on the Kardashians, non-reality reality shows, and a whole lot of other garbage. But I do really resent the schools telling my grandson that he is NOT allowed to use the word Christmas tree or any other Christmas thing on school grounds. And teachers will be fired for using this word. The classroom Christmas tree is now a "holiday shrub". And yes, this is for real!!!
I love your card and I do know how to use my computer to make any saying I want and I did get your Happy New Year Stamp. :) I sorta have something in mind with it using a wine bottle and glass stamp and some glitter and glam.

I agree completely! Someone should challenge that rule since it would appear to go against freedom of speech. But, on the other hand, does it really ruin Christmas? As long as your grandson gets his gifts, I bet he'll be happy and the world will keep spinning.
