Tomorrow is Presidents' Day. Really? Why is this a holiday? I guess on the bright side, it's not a real holiday since not everyone has the day off but still... ridiculous. So I guess it's mainly about government offices, banks and the post office. It seems like all three should be working overtime to improve their images if nothing else. If my business were tanking as badly as the post office, I don't think I would be taking many days off. In fact, I'd find a way to make it as easy as possible for people to give me money! However, it's still pretty impressive that you can send a letter (or rubber stamped card) to someone across the country for less than a dollar. So when stamps go up to 50 cents, I won't complain. But these random holidays - good grief! We need to work more rather than less. And by "we" I mean YOU. Running a rubber stamp company is fraught with anxiety and stress! You have no idea!
Are you getting tired of the Shadow stamp yet? It seems like I've used it on every card since I've had it. And here's another, whether you're tired of it or not. A long card this time to fit into a #10 envelope (business size). If you have a Scor-Pal the measurements are right there - otherwise, you'll have to divide 11 inches by 3 and since I've seen some of you trying to decipher your rulers in class, this could take awhile.
This one has a pop up greeting which seems to hover above the card.
Here's a close up. You'll need some heavy acetate - the kind used on report covers. Thin acetate might work but it may crack when you fold it. Regular card stock will also work but it doesn't seem to pop up as much after being in an envelope for a few days and it may not be as durable. I made a couple of folds and tucked it behind the ribbon - Wonder Tape to adhere.
Here's another long card with the same acetate pop up.
This time I cut a slit at the bottom of the cloud and slid the acetate through.
So enjoy your three-day weekend if you have it. Go buy some sheets or something.

Love the pop-up technique. Thanks for sharing. The PO is hurting your business as you can't ship if they are not open. You should file a complaint!

Don't know why we celebrate President's Day! Seems to me presidents have brought us nothing to celebrate, unless you love escalating gasoline prices, high food prices and high you name it. Love your shadow stamp cards. Never get tired of them. Keep 'em comin'!!!

I am a government employee who has her wages frozen for several years so we can be an example for other places to follow, which they don't. And. I work hard caring for veterans and am proud to do it.
