Thanks to the big government shutdown, I am seriously considering making a few new stamps.
We could all stamp them on cards and mail them to those who supposedly represent us. In my unhappy case, that ass, Ted Cruz would be receiving a note... as would many of the other idiots who decided to shut down the government to oppose health care coverage for the people who vote for them. Sometimes I think my neighbor, Earl - the one with a recliner on his front porch - would do a better job.
Anyway.... I wanted my own 'shutdown' for a few days but I realized that as soon as the cat bowls are empty, I'd have to be back to work... unlike the politicians who are still getting paid.
Meanwhile, here are a couple of new Day of the Dead cards using the new Sugar Skull. I embossed the skull in black and colored it with Wink Of Stella pens. Now I don't know or care who Stella is but she might want to see an optometrist. That has got to be the weirdest name for a company EVER! Nevertheless, my friend, Dee, gave me one and I've been winking ever since! Dee is as old as the hills but is somehow always on the cutting edge and finds out about things way before I do. I also used some Twinkling H2O's (which now seems like a completely normal name). It's hard to see the iridescence in the photo but in real life it's impressive.
The skull is popped up on a strip of acetate which I folded to make a spring. I tried a Wobble Spring (still not as weird as Wink of Stella) but it was too big.
Here's another Sugar Skull popped up on the large Day of the Dead stamp. I also added the Skeleton Hands embossed in black.
Well, I hope that you are able to turn off your televisions and get some stamping done during the government shutdown. I'm sure Washington will sort if all out. However, I'm not sure how much we should expect from our leaders when We, The People tend to be as dumb as a box of hammers as this video shows:
