Happy Texas Tuesday! And it's an extra special Tuesday because after today, we won't have to be bombarded with campaign ads for another two years! Now, I don't really care who you vote for (no, really - I don't) but I truly hope that you aren't voting based on a campaign ad! What a load of crap! The only thing any of these ads proves is that our politicians think that we are morons. Sadly, whoever wins will probably think that their ads did the trick and they will make more for future elections. Thank God for the MUTE button!
So on to something that REALLY matters! I stamped the Sketchy Horse stamp several times and made Post-It Note masks for each. Once they were covered< I stamped the Worn Out Texas over them with a Kaleidacolor pad - Autumn something-or-other. I stamped it lighter in the background and used a stipple brush to get more shades of color. Then I peeled the Post-It Note masks off and colored the horses with colored pencils. The great thing about this stamp is that you don't have to be too careful when you color. It's supposed to be sketchy! I tried to outline the letters with a white pen but I couldn't find one that worked. Typical! What's the deal with white? Can't someone make a white pen that doesn't dry up so fast? Anyway, I added the Texas Post stamp on top and cut around the edges with some deckle scissors. When I was finished I wished that I had stamped a Sketchy Cowboy among the horses. Oh well. Too late. Maybe next time...
So back to politics... The other day I saw this woman wearing a t-shirt that read "Abortion is a Dead End". Of course it was a yellow shirt with sort of a dead end shaped sign... you get the idea. Now I don't really care which side of this issue you're on (no, really - I don't) but good grief! I mean bumper stickers are enough of an pointless eyesore but is anyone seriously going to reconsider their position based on a t-shirt? I mean except for the morons that believe campaign ads. And what's wrong with dead ends anyway? Lot's of people live on dead ends and probably really like the lack of traffic. I guess "Abortion is a Cul-de-Sac" isn't as dramatic. Anyway, just thought I'd mention it. Maybe it will make someone think twice before getting dressed in the morning.
Cutting out all those masks must have been tedious! Especially around the ears. but worth it, cuz this card is waaaay cool! Not sure how you used the stipple brush to get that nice sunset affect, but I like it. And I agree about the white ink pens!! They make my life miserable when I try to write with them on the inside of a black card. Even a brand new one is less than wonderful.

Great card Mark, and I think it is perfect without a cowboy.
