I'm sure I don't have to tell you that Texas Independence Day is less than a month away. So in case you're looking for a fun and easy project to make for someone or even for yourself, here are a couple of simple books with a Texas theme.
I've been meaning to make a password book for months but something always got in the way. Finally it's done so I no longer have an excuse for not remembering a password to some random site that I rarely visit. I covered some chipboard with black card stock and punched it with my Zutter binding machine. The new Texas Icons stamp is the perfect size for this small book so I stamped it in black on kraft-colored card stock.
I covered the inside of the covers with some small scraps of printed paper and then cut the pages and dividers. Zutter the holes and bind it up with the wire binding. Now all I have to do is add my passwords. I guess I should also find a place to hide this little book so that whoever breaks into my house doesn't have access to my sad little bank account!
While my Zutter was still on my desk I decided to make another quick book. This one has a gate fold so it requires twice the binding but it's totally worth it!
I alternated the pages so that they would open from the right and then the left and had images extending beyond the edge. This would look so good with photographs or little notes about your Texas travels!
Because there are too many pages to photograph, I made a short video which you can see HERE.
Either of these books would make a great Texas Independence Day gift! What? You don't give Texas Independence Day gifts? Were you raised by wolves?

Hi, Mark
Love your Texas Independence Day, or password books. I own a Zutter binding machine but have never used it, now you've given me a reason to take it out of it's box! Thank you so much!
