More New Christmas!

Of course I wanted some new Texas Christmas stamps. These Texas ornaments are a limited edition set at a special price for all three. I've already sketched out 3 more for next year and hopefully I'll have 3 more the year after that. Collect them all!

Here's a tri-fold card using kraft card stock. I stamped the ornaments on white card stock and cut them out so that they would really stand out.

These will probably be available through mid-December or so. That's also true of the Limited Edition Texas Set both in mounted and unmounted. Once December hits, I'll have to start thinking of Valentine's Day, spring and beyond...

Santa Claus Is Coming To Town

... well, in three and a half months. But we can't wait until the last minute, now can we? So like it or not (NOT!), Christmas it is.

Santa and his three HO's. The number one question I get is, "Do you have a die for that stamp?" My answer is simple: "I use a UNIVERSAL die cutter. It's called a PAIR OF SCISSORS!" and you can too! So I cut out Santa and used a punch for his HO's.

 

The new Ornament Hanger was stamped in Encore Silver on purple card stock.

There are two sizes of nutcrackers and a nutty sentiment to go with them. They'd make a great wrapping if you give nuts for the holidays!

I love the new Special Delivery and December 25 stamps. They're perfect for making gift tags as well as cards!

Texas State Of Mind

Harvey.... what an ass, right?

Hope everyone survived the mayhem. I'm sure many people won't even be able to read this right now and life won't be back to normal for awhile. Until then, here are some visual thoughts of Texas. I bet the USPS won't be up and running for awhile but if you know anyone living close to the coast, make them a card just to let them know that you're thinking about them.

This just in: I have 10 of the new limited edition Texas sets available online! They will ship on Monday or Tuesday.

There will be more available but I'm going out of town next week so once these 10 are sold, you'll have to wait until I get more wood and rubber.

New Texas Stamp Set!

Now that the Lone Star Shop Hop is over, I'll be sending sets of the limited edition passport stamps to the stores that have ordered them. These 13 new stamps will be available for a limited time. Once they're gone, they're gone! So be sure to tell your local store to save you a set!

Texas Shop Hop!

Just in case you've been under a rock for awhile (it's nice under here, right?), you might not know about the Texas Shop Hop. You can find more information about the shop hop HERE.

 

13 Texas scrapbook stores are participating and I've designed 13 brand new stamps for stores to stamp in the passports.

The stamps will be available after the shop hop is over both individually and as a set.

Several stores will be carrying them and you can find them online but only for a short time!

I'm going to pick a few of my favorites to include in the catalog but they won't all make it.

The stamps are about 1.5" square-ish - perfect for cards and scrapbooks!

So if you see something you like, you'd better get it while you can! But not until after July 16! Tell your local stores to save you some!

New Poppy Cling Set

Poppy season is here in Central Texas! I've got a few popping up in my backyard and the Georgetown Poppy Festival is this weekend. Here's a new unmounted stamp set so that you can have poppies at your house, too!

I stamped the flowers in Memento Love Letter on orange card stock and the poppy seed pod in black. I drew in the stems and stamped the flower centers in black and added a few in the background in Memento Lady Bug.

I stamped the flower on orange card stock and cut it out. On the other side, I stamped the center of the flower and then folded the circle to look like a half-opened poppy. The P is for Poppy stamp is also new and I colored the insides of the letters with Prismacolor pencils.

Here are all 4 of the stamps in the set in an abstract pattern. The flowers look good in all colors so they're not limited to only be poppies.

Til' The Cows Come Home

First of all let me apologize in advance for the following terrible cow puns. But if you're going to have cow stamps, you better have something for them to say, right? Needless to say, I'll be milking these for all they're worth!

I cut out the nose and popped it up. The background is from the new poppy set - more on this later.

Bloomin' Bluebonnets

We've got a few bluebonnets popping up here and a sunny week means more are sure to follow!

I love the way the I [heart] Bluebonnets die looks sticking above the card. And thanks to my over-ordering it, check out the special price on the DEADBEAT DIES page.

It's amazing how a little white gel pen and white Prismacolor pencil can make an image pop!

It's hard to see in the photo, but I added a little Stickles glitter glue to the Big Bluebonnet to make it sparkle.

Here are a couple of simple one layer cards.

I stamped the Large Texas in Memento Toffee Crunch and then added a little Prismacolor pencil on top for shading.

Hope you're able to make plans to see some real live bluebonnets but if not, you can always add a few bluebonnet stamps to your collection!

Let's Go Find Some Bluebonnets!

If you're looking for an excuse to jump in the car and find some bluebonnets, how about a road trip to a nearby (or not so nearby) store that sells Deadbeat Designs stamps? I've just added a couple of Texas stores to the list: My Scrap Haven in Frisco and The Crafty Scrapper in Waxahachie. As you know, it's important to keep our small retailers in business! It's very unlikely that you'll ever find Deadbeat Designs stamps in any MichaelsJoAnnsHobLob because my company is too small to offer bulk discounts (and my stamps are NOT made in China!). Bluebonnet season is a great time to take a road trip and if you just happen to point yourself in the direction of a stamp or scrapbook store, all the better!
